ABM Uncensored provides a forum for dialogue to support productive business development, tap into specific subject expertise and exchange knowledge between Aboriginal communities and the private sector.
It is your first networking opportunity at ABM and offers the opportunity to connect meaningfully with likeminded ABMers.
ABM Uncensored is designed to take the conversation below the surface of political correctness in business negotiations and is based on the belief that differences contribute to the success of a relationship rather than preventing it.
ABM Uncensored participants examine topics in a talking circle, engaging in courageous conversations with the explicit goal to change the way Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people live and do good business together. This workshop is not for the faint of heart. The dialogue can be disturbing. Cringing is part of the experience.
Audience members and speakers determine topics of interest at ABM Uncensored by filling out a questionnaire when they register for the event.
ABM Uncensored takes place
• on Monday
• from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Lunch is provided. There is no additional charge. ABM Uncensored is followed by the ABM Welcome Reception at 6.30 pm.
This workshop is the brainchild of QWASTeNAYe L. Maynard Harry, Principal Partner at Raven Events and former Chief of the Tla’amin Nation in BC, who will draw from his experiences to moderate these discussions while creating a safe and confidential environment. Other conversation catalysts include:
o ABM Co-hosts
o ABM Champions
o ABM National Partners
Contact Maynard Harry at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-604-483-3532 to discuss how to leverage ABM Uncensored as part of your 2.5-day ABM experience.
